Preventer HQ - Floor Guide
Basement: This underground level is used for storage, and is accessible to employees only, although there may be the option to rent space for a fee.
Ground: As you walk into HQ, you will immediately notice the central reception desk, which is central and has a waiting area before it. The waiting area has comfortable chairs and a table with some Preventer leaflets laid out. All guests must report to the reception desk first; they will then be advised to take a seat and wait for someone to come and accompany them. (There may be exceptions to this, but purely on a case by case basis). There are two elevators, one either side of the reception desk, both of which are able to service all floors (please see Travel Between Floors below) and signs list the available floors and their purposes.
2nd: Residential floor. This is where newer Preventer employees may choose to call home, either in place of or in addition to their room on the residential decks of the ship. Each room has two bunk-beds and most will find they must share with a fellow employee. If they're lucky, they'll get to choose. On the upside, the rooms are rent-free and convenient for those who like to work into the early hours of the morning. Brass plates on the doors display the room number and there is a residents' list available to show who lives where. The second floor is also home to a second break room, reserved for those who have rooms on-site, where staff can enjoy food and entertainment without having to pay a single credit for any of it.
3rd: The second of the residential floors. The layout is identical to the floor below, but the rooms are a little nicer and reserved for those who have worked for Preventer on a more long-term basis.
4th: Research & Development laboratory. One of the main sources of income for the organisation, this floor is accessible to approved personnel only.
5th: This floor is comprised of conference rooms of varying layouts and capacities. There is a reception desk opposite the elevator where employees can book rooms to meet their needs and where external visitors who weren't accompanied from the ground floor will be greeted. These guests are usually those from external companies who have booked use of a conference room, another means of income for the Preventer organisation.
6th: Open-plan office. Here, Preventer employees who don't work at HQ enough to warrant their own office can still have a quiet place to work - perhaps someone on Security who has a report to write, or a freelancer who does not put in enough hours to be considered to need their own office. As with the 5th floor, space on the 6th can be booked by non-Preventer clients and there is an area specifically reserved for such clients. The 6th floor is also home to the staff break room, which is open to all Preventer staff regardless of status.
7th: Freelancer offices. Freelance staff who are at HQ enough to require their own spaces have their offices on this floor. Signage lists who's in which office; each office has a plaque with the name and job title of the employee to whom the office belongs.
8th: Permanent offices. Preventer staff who are on permanent contracts have their offices here or on the floor above. The eight floor is for the junior members of the permanent team. Signage is as per the 7th floor.
9th: This is where the senior permanent staff offices are situated. Signage is as per the 7th floor.
10th: Zechs' office.
11th: Lady Une's office.

As mentioned previously, there are elevators capable of servicing all floors. All floors except for 5-9 inclusive require a keycard which is only given to Preventer employees. Each card is programmed to service only those floors which the employee is entitled to visit.
Each floor does have multiple evacuation routes in case of fire or other emergency but these are locked and only released should the alarm system be activated.
